Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Mopsick.

Adam, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in finance and then began working as an assistant construction superintendent for Brookman Fels. I originally had intended to go to law school but fell in love with the construction industry and got my contractor’s license shortly after graduating. At 24 years old, I took a chance and started my company with my partner, Ross Adickman. I started with renovating one apartment and moved on to complete various projects like flooring and bathroom renovations. There are a lot of different ways to carve out a path in this industry and we continue to complete more and more jobs, with each one leading to a bigger opportunity. Construction is a vast industry and virtually every type of business needs construction at some point. We were able to provide this necessary service to each of our clients and continued to build our business to become the Amicon organization that we have today.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Inevitably, every business owner encounters some challenges along the way. We have been very fortunate to experience a continued demand in the construction industry during the pandemic but have struggled to find professionals who can meet Amicon’s standards. Being able to expand our business at such a challenging time has been very fortunate, but through that expansion, we’ve had to find new team members and professionals at executive levels who have exactly what we’re looking for. We’ve been able to overcome this challenge by developing strong internal training programs and have pivoted to training young people in the industry. This has presented an incredible opportunity to not only grow our company but empower young professionals in the industry.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Amicon – what should we know?
Amicon is a South Florida based real estate consultancy and premier project management firm that specializes in client advocacy, high-end owner representation and general contracting. Essentially, we offer owner’s representation services that take on the clients’ perspective and help to identify issues and solve them in order to meet their ultimate goal. We take on the role of a project leader and client advocate to streamline the communication process and navigate project challenges. Our advisory services can save clients both time and money and provide strategic leadership to deliver a successful project outcome.

What sets Amicon apart is our established and unique approach to each project we take on. Our team implements a curated strategy and analyzes the best course of action, focusing on the client’s goal. We’ve also worked very hard to cultivate a corporate culture that our team and partners can be proud of – one that is rooted in collaboration, innovative solutions, and social engagement. We make an effort to establish a strong relationship with each client and truly get to know them in a way that goes beyond business.

What are your plans for the future? What are you looking forward to or planning for – any big changes?
Over the course of the Covid pandemic and its uncertainties, I have grown increasingly more optimistic about the future of South Florida, particularly for the construction and real estate industry. The challenges of this year have accelerated the migration of out-of-state business owners and high-income earners to Florida’s warm-weather climate, more open spaces and significant tax advantages. The influx of investors has increased the demand for local expertise and client advocacy and with Amicon’s sprawling network throughout each local real estate market, our team is excited to be at the hub of this expansion, providing much-needed local expertise.
